Michelle Lordan Class of 1989
During her four years at Norwell High School, Michelle Lordanwas a fierce competitor in both indoor track and track and field. In the words of one of her teammates, “Michelle modeled determination, perseverance and maturity beyond her years.”Competing in indoor track, Michelle’s premier event was the50-meter hurdles, in which she won the State Championshipsin 1987, 1988 and 1989.
As a senior, Michelle set a new state record in this event. In track and field, Michelle was the 100-meter hurdles state champion in 1988 and 1989, also winning the New England Championship in 1989. During her senior year, Michelle was also the state champion in the long-jump. That same year, Michelle ran the opening leg onNorwell’s championship one-milerelay team and broke the South Shore Principals and Eastern Massachusetts Class D Record.Michelle earned many honorsduring her time at Norwell High School, including being named an All-scholastic by the Patriot Ledger seven times and by the Boston Herald and Boston Globe twice each.
In 1989, Michelle was named the Boston Globe Track and Field Athlete of the Year.After graduating from NHS in 1989, Michelle attended Boston University on a full athletic scholarship. While at BU, Michelle competed in the hurdles, long-jump and pentathlon. During her senior year, Michelle served as a tri-captain of the Boston University Women’s Track and Field team.Michelle lives in Wakefield with her husband Mike and her children Grace, Dan, and Kate.
